Passenger Traffic Rises at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport in May

Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, June 16, 2010—Passenger enplanements at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) were up for the third consecutive month in May, increasing 7.03% over last May. Arriving passengers, or deplanements, were up 4.62%. Year-to-date, BTR total passenger boardings are up 2.12 percent.

 

Passenger boardings for the month totaled 67,620. Delta had the largest market share in May with 29,793 passengers, representing 44 percent of total boardings. Continental had 20,502 passengers, giving them a 31 percent share followed by American Eagle at 17,325 and a 25 percent share.

 

With the addition of US Airways flights beginning June 24th, the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport will be served by four of the world’s largest airlines—American Eagle, Continental, Delta, and US Airways—to five major hubs in Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Atlanta, Memphis, and Charlotte.
