Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, October 04, 2010—The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) has upgraded its free Wi-Fi service with a comprehensive system that is available throughout the Terminal Building. Hotspots are identified with "Wi-Fi Hotspot” signage. Passengers can configure their laptops to connect to the nearest Wi-Fi access point that broadcasts an SSID of "BTR Wireless,” then launch their Internet browsers (i.e. Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla FireFox) to secure unlimited access to the web. The "Wi-Fi” service is available to all airport customers and visitors free of charge, courtesy of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport.
Now Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport customers can stay connected to their homes or offices while in any area of our terminal.
Additionally, BTR Airport’s Business Center provides high-speed wired data ports (operating over a Gigabit backbone), a copy machine, and Free Wi-Fi service to accommodate diverse technology needs. BTR Business Center visitors can complete last-minute transactions prior to their flights, or take advantage of the quiet atmosphere to relax with associates.
BTR Director of Aviation, Anthony Marino, said "Our free Wi-Fi service combined with other conveniences such as shorter lines and parking right outside the door provide important benefits for our valued customers.”
