Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, March 21, 2011 — Vision Airlines put an exclamation mark on their nonstop, low-fare air service between Baton Rouge Metro Airport and Destin/Ft. Walton Beach by offering a $19 fare (each way) from now through March 24. Travel must be completed by May 21, 2011.
Vision Airlines will operate flights three days per week from Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) to Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS), utilizing a 148-seat Boeing 737-400 aircraft and a 30-seat Dornier 328 aircraft, allowing travelers to experience an outstanding beach destination the minute they step off the plane. The Baton Rouge flights also provide one-stop service to the Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB).
Encompassing the southern sea towns of Destin • Fort Walton Beach • Okaloosa Island, Northwest Florida’s Emerald Coast has something for everyone, from basking on 24 miles of shockingly-white shoreline and teeing off on more than 1,080 challenging holes, to casting lines in the fish-filled waters of the "World’s Luckiest Fishing Village” and watching dolphins dance at the state’s oldest marine park, Florida’s Gulfarium.
"We hope residents within our catchment area will respond to this amazing fare and fly Vision Airlines to Destin/Ft. Walton Beach”, said Anthony Marino, Director of Aviation at Baton Rouge Metro Airport. "The Vision Airlines schedule allows for a long weekend or a week. The $19 fare should prompt many residents who might not have planned a trip during this time period to take advantage of the fare and enjoy a long weekend at the beautiful beaches of Northwest Florida’s Emerald Coast.”
Vision Airlines also offers discount hotel and rental car packages via their website,

that prefer not to rent a car can take advantage of year-round beach shuttles that provide a
