Vision Airlines Announces Nonstop Baton Rouge To Las Vegas Flights - $39 Introductory Fares

Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, April 19, 2011 —Vision Airlines will add nonstop service to Las Vegas from the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) effective June 1st.  Introductory $39* Las Vegas fares go on sale Wednesday, April 20 through Sunday, April 24.  Travel on the introductory fares is valid from June 1 to July 15, 2011.  The introductory fares are only available at    


The new roundtrip Las Vegas flights will operate twice weekly with service on Friday and Monday.  Flights will depart Baton Rouge at 9:15 p.m. and arrive in Las Vegas at 10:45 p.m.  Flights leaving Las Vegas will depart at 11:45 p.m. and arrive in Baton Rouge at 5:20 a.m.  The flights provide for a long weekend, mid-week, or week-long visit to Las Vegas.  The Vision flights will utilize modern Boeing 737-400 jets seating 148 passengers.   


"Vision Airlines’ business plan is to make complete vacation packages affordable for everyone.  Our expansion to Las Vegas and the other markets is consistent with our strategy to meet this objective.  We will continue to add cities and routes that are underserved and where there are very high prices,” said David Meers, Vision Airlines’ Chief Operating Officer. 


Anthony Marino, Director of Aviation at BTR, said, "We have long sought low-fare, nonstop service to Las Vegas, which is one of the top destinations in the world.  Now residents of the Baton Rouge region can enjoy both low fares and the convenience of nonstop Las Vegas flights."


Vision Airlines will continue to provide low-fare, nonstop jet flights from BTR to Destin/Ft. Walton Beach on Boeing 737-400 aircraft.  Effective June 1, those flights will operate on Saturday and Tuesday to Destin with a Monday and Friday return to Baton Rouge.  Passengers can depart Baton Rouge at 6:05 a.m. and arrive in Destin at 7:20 a.m. to enjoy a full day at the beach.  Flights from Destin depart at 7:15 p.m. and arrive in Baton Rouge at 8:30 p.m.
