Baton Rouge Metro Airport Facility to be Used for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Distribution

The City of Baton Rouge and the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport has entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement allowing for the use and occupancy of a 43,765 square foot hangar/office facility owned by the Greater Baton Rouge Airport District for the purpose of receiving, storing and distributing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other supplies associated with the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. The initial term of this agreement is three (3) months.

The Mayor’s Office in partnership with the Baton Rouge Health District will facilitate the operation of this business-to-business interchange donation site. The location will serve as a central contact and distribution point to identify supply items of critical need, make it as easy as possible for corporate and community members to make those items available, and facilitate distribution to all of the area hospitals based on equitable real-time need.
