Baton Rouge Metro Airport Passengers Up 11.2% Percent in September

Passenger volume at the Baton Rouge Metro Airport was up 11.2% percent in September, the largest single-month increase in 2019. Increased seating capacity on American and United combined with higher demand were key factors in the growth. Year-to-date passenger volume through September is up 1.8%. Passenger numbers were up 8% for 2017 and 2018 combined.  

Total BTR passenger volume for September was 65,625 with American capturing the highest passenger share at 26,147 passengers, followed by Delta at 20,924 and United at 18,557.

Airline revenue from ticket sales for BTR flights reached $163.2 million for the year-ended 2nd quarter 2019, a new record.
