Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport Passenger Volume Up
News ReleaseBaton Rouge, LA –For Immediate Release, August 25, 2017
Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) passenger enplanements were up 3.58% in July and 3.22% year‐to‐date through July, 2017. A total of 67,438 passengers traveled through the airport in July. Year‐to‐date total BTR passenger volume is 446,273 throughJuly. BTR’s passenger count is up for the 11th consecutive month dating fromSeptember of 2016.
American and United seating capacity was up for the month and year‐to‐date due to the use of larger aircraft. American now primarily schedules the dual‐class Bombardier CRJ700 jets for BTR flights, and United has added dual‐class Embraer 175 and BombardierCRJ 700 aircraft. American and Delta remain tied for top passenger share at 38% apiece, followed by United at 24%.
“We are pleased to have passenger growth for the 11th consecutive month,” said RalphHennessy, Interim Director of Aviation at BTR. “We look forward to continued support from the community to show our airline partners that area residents will fill these additional seats.”
