Passenger Count at Baton Rouge Metro Airport Up 14% in December
The Baton Rouge Metro Airport (BTR) passenger enplanements increased by 14% in December, and finished up 2.6% for 2019. Passenger volume is up for the third consecutive year with a 10% increase over that time period.
Total BTR passengers reached 822,425 for 2019, making the airport the second largest in Louisiana by passenger volume. American captured the most passengers with 312,985, followed by Delta at 295,498, and United at 213,942. The BTR combined flight load factor, which is the percentage of seats filled, rose to 78.3% from 75.7% the prior year. The top five origin and destination (O&D) markets for BTR passengers in 2019 were Dallas/Ft. Worth, Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte and Washington D.C.
